Friday Five

Dordogne France

Friday is finally here! This week has been super long and busy (in a good way), but I am so relieved that the weekend is finally here. Plans include a 7 mile training run and going to my friend’s (you can check out her music here) concert in Philly with my sister on Saturday. Sunday starts daylight savings and I’ve never been more thrilled. I’ve been doing all of my weekday half marathon training on the treadmill and I can’t wait to start doing them outside now that we have more daylight! Sunday is also Selection Sunday (the day we find out who is in the NCAA basketball tournament aka my favorite time of year) so needless to say I will be glued to the TV and working on my bracket Sunday evening.

One // Beverly Hills Hotel: Anyone who knows me knows that I love Los Angeles and Hollywood. I really enjoyed reading this piece on the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel and its history with the celebrities that have stayed there over the decades.

Two // Time Management: If you are like me and are a procrastinator and don’t have the best time management skills, then this article is for you.

Three // French Chateaus: On a trip to Europe my senior year of high school we got the chance to explore the Dordogne Region of France (photo pictured above). I remember walking through the grounds of the chateaus and admiring the tremendous beauty of these French castles. This article took  me right back to those moments and has me itching to book a trip to France.

Four // Our Cheese Addiction: Hi, my name is Angela and I’m addicted to cheese. This article discusses why we’re addicted to cheese, why it’s not the best for your health and how to break the cheese habit in order to achieve your weight loss goals. It’s actually a very interesting and informative read and made me think about how much cheese I actually eat (it’s a lot). It’s safe to say I’ll be cutting back a bit.

Five // Because of 4am: I saw this article floating around LinkedIn recently, even though it’s almost a year old. It discusses a part of a speech, specifically one line, that Kobe Bryant said last year when he was accepting the Icon Award at the ESPYS. He said “We’re not on this stage because of talent or ability. We are up here because of 4 a.m. We’re up here because of two-a-days or five-a-days.” It’s a great lesson in that you can achieve anything you want as long as you put the work in. If you’re interested in seeing the whole speech, you can watch it here.
