A few weeks ago my mom, sister and I went to a local winery to watch my neighbor perform (she’s an amazing singer – you can listen to her music here). I feel like I always talk about the weather when I share my outfits, but I really do always keep the weather in mind when choosing an outfit. This particular day was very sunny, but there was also a strong breeze so the air was chilly, like an early October day. I originally wanted to wear a dress, but I knew I would be too cold so I opted for this look instead. This shirt (last seen here) is easily one of the best clothing purchases I’ve made all year. A beach bag that is fun and practical is a must-have for my summer essentials. I own quite a few and tend to rotate them depending on how much stuff I have with me. I have one backpack that my parents got for me in Mexico that I love, this super large shopper tote from Vera Bradley that’s made of recycled material (it’s excessive but fits a TON of stuff), and a small canvas bag from Turks and Caicos that Dan’s mom got me a few years ago. I personally don’t like to spend a lot of money on beach bags because they get sandy, sunscreen spills, etc and it’s not worth spending a ton of money on something that can get ruined very easily. If you were to ask me my ideal style, I would definitely say comfy and casual. I hate being uncomfortable and the older I get the more I think about the clothing purchases I’m making. Yes, something might be super cute and stylish, but am I really going to get use out of it or am I just going to be uncomfortable in it and wear it one time? I’m very lucky in the sense that the dress code at the office where I work is extremely casual, so I find myself buying more and more casual pieces (swap out the shorts for jeans and I could wear this to work).
