This past weekend I was looking to make some sort of dessert so naturally I asked my boyfriend what he wanted. His answer was “something with coconut” and the first thing that came up was macaroons. I had never made macaroons before, but it was surprisingly simple (I used this recipe). I followed the recipe pretty much to a T, but I made eight macaroons when the recipe called for six, and instead of using the chocolate that was in the recipe, I used the baking chocolate that we already had at the house and just melted it in the microwave. They were quick and easy to make and came out super delicious.
Many people would argue that leggings are not pants. I respectfully disagree. Leggings are the most comfortable leg-wear and can be dressed up or down. They are so versatile and are an important staple in my closet. Here are some of my favorite legging looks:
I love the way Olivia Palermo dressed up her leggings. I am a huge fan of black on black (the majority of my closet is black – I’m working on diversifying it) and Olivia pulls it off. I love her subtle gold accessories and her boots really make the outfit.
I don’t have a pair of leather leggings, but this outfit makes me really want a pair. I am obsessed with her sweater and I think her bun makes the outfit. It’s the perfect look for a casual date night.
This is outfit is the ultimate fall outfit: leggings and boots paired with a scarf. I love her sweater with the sequined elbow patches, and have been looking for the perfect one for myself.
If I haven’t said it before, I will say it here. I love Lauren Conrad. She can do no wrong and her style is perfection. I have a lot of LC Lauren Conrad pieces in my closet and I really need to add this sweater and leggings combo to my collection. I love that the leggings are so different from the typical black leggings that everyone normally wears (myself included) and I love that she paired it with this simple white sweater. It’s the perfect lazy Sunday outfit.
This outfit is so bold and probably something I could never pull off, but I love that the leggings are the main focal point of the outfit. The nude shoes are a great finishing touch and I love that the top is very simple, but the jacket gives it a cool edge.
What do you think? Are leggings pants or not?
I hate the winter. It’s so dreary and everything is dark and gray. Now that the holidays are over, it’s always a struggle for me to get through the first three months of the new year. I’ve found some luscious landscapes that are giving me some serious spring fever:
I just wanted to do a quick update on my monthly goal. So far, I’ve only spent money on gas, food, my gym membership, and my student loans. I feel like you always want what you can’t have, and since I can’t shop this month, that’s all I’ve been wanting to do. Some things I actually do need and others I don’t, so I’ve been keeping a running list in my phone so that when February comes, I’ll be able to go out and purchase it.
I’ve also been budgeting my money, which has been pretty easy since I’m not spending much. This challenge has actually been really good for my bank account because since I am spending less money, I’ve been able to save almost double what I normally do. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up for the last half of the month.
How have you been doing on your goals for the New Year?
The other day my boyfriend spent about two hours on my phone watching movie trailers and it got me thinking about some of the movies that I can’t wait to come out in 2015.
When I saw this trending on Facebook last month I got so excited! I love Disney movies, especially princess movies, and the trailer looks amazing!
I don’t know what it is about these movies, but I love them. I was never into comic movies until the first Avengers came out and then I was hooked. I’ve seen all of them at least twice and this movie looks soooo good.
(Three) Pitch Perfect 2
The first movie was hysterical and I really, really hope that the sequel is just as good. I’m excited and nervous to see this movie all at the same time because if it doesn’t live up to expectations, I am going to be so disappointed.
(Four) Fifty Shades of Grey
I’m both excited and unexcited to see this movie. I read all of the books almost three years ago and I’m really interested in seeing how they translate it onto the big screen. I wasn’t really thrilled with the cast choices but I’m hoping they prove me wrong.
What movies are you planning on seeing in 2015?
