I have always been a bookworm. When I was younger I would spend hours upon hours in Barnes & Noble trying to decide what book to buy. There were so many choices and I just wanted to read all of them.
Not much has changed since then, but I am a little more organized when I go into the bookstore. I have a running list of books that I want to read in my phone, so at least I have some idea of what I’m going to get.
I just finished reading The Traitor’s Wife by Allison Pataki. I love history and this book was seriously amazing. It’s about Benedict Arnold’s wife, Peggy Shippen, and the role she played in his betrayal of America. I didn’t know too much about her and after the book was over, it left me wanting more. I did some research on her and found out that a lot of the book was historically accurate, which I loved. I highly recommend this book and I will definitely be reading her next book.
After The Traitor’s Wife I wanted to continue reading historical fiction so I picked up The Fortune Hunter by Daisy Goodwin. I read her first book, The American Heiress, earlier last summer and loved it. I don’t know what it is for me but I feel like her books start out a little slow but really pick up a couple of chapters in. So far, so good.
I’ve seen so many people reading Cameron Diaz’s The Body Book, so I bought it on a whim to see what all the hype was about. I haven’t read the entire thing yet, but it was surprisingly different from what I was expecting. Instead of just giving different recipes and workouts, she really focuses on the science behind food and exercise and how certain foods benefit your body from a scientific approach. If you are looking for a health book that gets into the nitty gritty behind getting healthy, then this book is for you.
