I can’t believe that it’s already 2015. With the New Year just getting underway, everyone is talking about their new year’s resolutions. Last year, I decided that instead of having resolutions, I was going to have goals.
This year I’ve decided to break my goals down even further and focus on one goal each month. Here are my goals for 2015:
January | Money
Last year, one of my favorite bloggers Mackenzie posted her second 101 in 1001 list. I decided to take a stab at my own last year as well and so far I’m doing alright. One of the items on her list was to go one month without shopping. I thought this was a great idea, so I added it to my own list and am hoping to accomplish that goal this month. I also want to budget my money again. I started budgeting my money when I started my job in March and was going strong for a while, but stopped around September, so it’s definitely something that I want to start up again this year.
February | Hydrate
One of the biggest problems that I have is that I don’t drink enough water. I’m constantly dehydrated and I’m aware that I’m not drinking enough water but I never do anything about it. So this month, I’m going to make conscious effort to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
March | Health
Lent begins at the end of February and continues through the entire month of March. Last year I gave up cheese (I’m seriously addicted) and I think I’m going to do the same this year. So my goal for this month (since I will be cutting out every meal that has cheese involved) is to focus on eating healthier meals and finding healthy alternatives to my favorites that involve cheese.
April | Fitness
Normally, people make their new year’s resolution to work out and they start right in the beginning of January. Since the gym has been incredibly crowded the last few days, I’m going to focus on fitness in the month of April. I work out on a regular basis, but this month I’m going to try to up my workout routine and push myself harder since summer is just around the corner.
May | Fashion
This month may be a little challenging for me. I love clothes as much as the next girl but I’m horrible at putting pieces together and accessorizing. I love summer clothes so hopefully this time of year will inspire me to put together pieces that are fashionable. I always go for comfort and the “less is more” mindset (mostly because I’m lazy) so my goal is to really step up my fashion game for the summer.
June | Write
I love to write but it’s really hard for me to find time to sit down and actually do it. I either get distracted or watch Netflix (horrible habit). I also have a huge fear of having others read my writing, which is why this blog is such a big step for me because anyone anywhere in the world can read what I have to say. So this month my goal is to write for at least 30 minutes every day.
July & August | Adventure
I combined these two months because summer is my favorite time of year and there are so many things that I want to do, but time just goes by way too fast. So during the summer months I want to paddle board, travel, go on a sailboat, go camping, watch a movie outdoors, watch fireworks on the beach and more.
September | Organize
Even though January marks the start of a new year, September always feels like a fresh start to me, probably from the years of getting ready to go back to school. During this time, my goal is to organize my entire life including my bedroom, closet, computer, bathroom, and finances.
October | Read
I love love love to read, but sometimes I’d rather watch TV than pick up my book. This month my goal is to read for at least 30 minutes every day.
November | Cook
I can’t tell you how many pins I have on my food Pinterest board. This month I’m going to attempt to make at least 10 recipes from Pinterest and maybe even contribute a dish to Thanksgiving dinner. We’ll see how this one goes…
December | Craft
Similar to my November goals, my DIY Pinterest board has a million pins that I’ve done nothing with. Since December is Christmas time, this would be the perfect time to put my DIY board to good use and make some homemade gifts.
